Copyright Policy
Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g. post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their website) after its publication in EVJAI with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal are required to ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another publisher. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they hold the copyright to all parts of the work, including figures, tables, and supplementary materials, or that they have obtained the necessary permissions to reproduce any third-party content. Proper attribution and acknowledgment must be provided for all borrowed material.
Upon acceptance for publication, authors are asked to transfer copyright to the journal’s publisher, unless the journal operates under an open access license (such as Creative Commons). In the case of copyright transfer, the publisher holds the legal right to disseminate, reproduce, and archive the article in all forms and media, while authors retain certain rights such as using their work for teaching, research, and non-commercial purposes.
For open access articles, the copyright typically remains with the authors, but the work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or similar license. This allows others to share, adapt, and build upon the work, provided that proper credit is given to the original authors and that the terms of the license are respected. Authors choosing open access publication are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC), which supports the costs of peer review, production, and online hosting.
The journal maintains a strict policy against copyright infringement. If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarized content or unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, it may be rejected, retracted, or corrected depending on the severity of the violation. Authors may also be held responsible for obtaining and providing documentation of permissions for any copyrighted content included in their submission.
Additionally, the publisher reserves the right to deposit all published works in international databases, indexing services, and digital repositories to ensure wide dissemination and preservation. Authors are encouraged to self-archive preprints or accepted versions of their articles in institutional repositories, provided that such sharing complies with the publisher’s copyright and licensing terms.
